Go Exotic! ~ Vibrant Indian Decor

Elle Decor did their Special International Issue back in 2005 which featured the wonderfully exotic home of Liza Bruce (swimwear designer) and husband Nicholas Alvis Vega (jewelry and furniture designer), in Jaipur, Rajasthan India. I just LOVE all the details in this home, from the beautiful architectural features, to the all the vibrant color choices and intricate detailing adorning the walls. Although this home is quite ornate, it still has a modern vibe to it. Elle Decor also featured this home in their book So Chic: Glamorous Lives, Stylish Spaces!

 

Stylish Bathroom Fixtures, Faucets & Fittings by Bandini

I love these modern designs by Italian company Rubinetterie Bandini . Designer, Marco Pisati and Bandini's fascination with new materials and technology manifest in a product that is more like modern art sculpture than bathroom fixtures and faucets. Both their modern and classic collections for the bathroom and kitchen hold a very beautiful pleasing aesthetic with innovative designs that are very inspiring.

 

Here are a few items from the Bamboo line of Bandini's bathroom fittings. I love how the angles of this collection have a subtle resemblance to a bamboo node. 

 

The graceful rippling effect of the Ocean sink is simply stunning, especially when grouped together in multiples, as shown above! This line would be great in both a commercial or residential interior.

Modern Glass Art by Lino Tagliapietra

 

LinoTagliapietra is an Italian glass blower from Murano, Italy who is credited by Glass Masters around the world to be the best glass blower in the world! Dale Chihuly says that he is the best glass blower in the world that is still living! Often referred to as the Maestro of Glass, Lino's impeccable technique in the hotshop is unparelled! I have had the great pleasure of meeting Lino and watching him in action while I was the Education Coordinator at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. As an aspiring glass blower myself, these are some truely unforgettable moments! Lino has been to Pratt several times to teach an exclusive Summer Intensive course to accomplished glass blowers from all over. You literally need an extensive portfolio to qualify for the class. His work is remarkable and is shown in museums and galleries across the globe. Photos truely do not do his work justice!

 

Modern Lighting by Jeremy Cole

I just love these aloe inspired modern lighting fixtures from the Flora collection by designer, Jeremy Cole. The fixtures are made of beautifully hand crafted porcelain and are designed to give both direct and indirect light emissions, creating a stunning lighting effect and display. They come in several styles and sizes and are available in opaque white or noir, but can be custom ordered in a variety of colors.
