3 Form Light Art Project - Year of the Dragon 2012

Since these magnificently sculptured Dragon's were built in 3-Form's Seattle studio, which happens to be local for me, I wanted so badly to sneak a peak of the construction in progress. Now, just in time for the Chinese New Year 2012, 3-Form's Light Art Division has delivered a spectacular project on a super-tight timeline. 75 feet long, 6 sections, 2 heads, fully packed with RGB LED lighting - DMX control via iPad, these fascinating creatures took 3 months to create. Another innovative project made primarily with 3-Forms Varia eco resin!

Modern Ceramic Lamps ~ By Mamati

These modern lamps are made by Italian company Mamati. Designer T.Menozzi has created a very stylish and elegant collection of ceramic lamps that are all hand made using a special technique. They come in different sizes, shapes and colors and the smooth lines are very modern and would go nicely with most interiors. Mamati also has a collection of vases, bowls, trays and art that compliment these lamps beautifully! I'm looking forward to seeing more from this company!

Ancient Origami Meets Sustainable Modern Lighting!

Ancient origami techniques infused with modern lighting, comprise this delightful, eco-chic lighting solution. Self taught artist, Andrew Ooi, collaborates with print-based artist, Eric Mathew  to use screen-printed, recycled / recyclable Fabriano Tiziano paper with compact energy-saving florescent bulbs to create the hanging Sonobe light.
The freestanding version, again, uses origami that has been constructed into geometric shapes then attached to a reclaimed wood base. Very nice!

Modern Lighting by Jeremy Cole

I just love these aloe inspired modern lighting fixtures from the Flora collection by designer, Jeremy Cole. The fixtures are made of beautifully hand crafted porcelain and are designed to give both direct and indirect light emissions, creating a stunning lighting effect and display. They come in several styles and sizes and are available in opaque white or noir, but can be custom ordered in a variety of colors.
